Something About Strong Female Characters...

I've been waiting for a new Maximum Ride book to come out, Maximum Ride Forever, that will come out May 18th of this year. So in the mean time I bought the Vanished book series by Meg Cabot. I'm currently on book two, Code Name Cassandra. It didn't take me long to realize that Max and Jessica Mastriani (from the Vanished series) are a lot alike which probably explains why I'm on book two of that series. With school, talking to a publisher, and everything I'm only on chapter eight of Code Name Cassandra. It's great so far. Maybe this is why I love writing strong female characters. Or it could be the added weight of Katara, Toph, Suki, Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai (from Avatar: The Last Airbender), Korra and Asami (from Legend of Korra- okay Jinora was okay too.), She-Hulk, Black Widow, Gamora (from various Marvel works). Not to mention Nudge and Angel from Maximum Ride too. The girls in Avatar and Korra are at the top of their game. She-Hulk, Black Widow, and Gamora ha...

Busy Day Full of Everything!

How do I start this? No idea. Am I going to write anyway? Well, have you known me to do anything else? Haha. So this week has been busy for me. I'm getting set up in therapy, I'm publishing Head Hunters, and I found out I was behind in English Comp. I have since had three appointments this week at the therapists' office, all in a row. Not to mention I'm working on Fight for Equality and had thoughts plaguing my mind. In the good and bad way.  So therapy is where I'll start. I had to talk to three different professionals to get my new therapist. And after talking about my life and trauma three different times in three different ways to three different professionals I have determined that I am one tough cookie. Each professional asks "Do you do drugs?" "Do you drink alcohol?" "Do you smoke?" And although I have experimented with drinking (did not end well) and smoking cigarettes (ended slightly worse than drinking), but I never relied o...

So I am starting the publishing process with AuthorHouse for Head Hunters. I chose the Essential package. In this package Head Hunters will be sold in ebook and paperback format. I will have one-on-one author support, professional marketing consultant, online distribution through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other book retailers. And I will get an ISBN assignment, copyrights (on my book. very important to me), and a letter from Library of Congress. I will get my own copy and ten paperbacks and twenty ebook codes to sell personally. On the marketing from preview/inside looks on Amazon, Google, Barnes and Noble, and Book Buyers. Head Hunters will be mentioned in BookMad magazine. I also get 100 promotional bookmarks, 100 promotional business cards, and 100 promotional postcards. There's more, but I'm sure I'm the only one who cares about the other minor details. If you guys would like to see where I got that information:  http://www.authorhouse.com/Packages/Comparison/BW.a...

In my Head- Fight for Equality

So I started Fight for Equality (my Head Hunters sequel). I'm working on it hard today. I already have two pages written down for the story, but I also have 17 blog entries for the book hand written which is about 34 pages. I'm now typing up the blog entries because I found out how I want this book to look, and Richard supports my idea. :) One thing I love about my writing is that you can see my planning and passion. It's basically written on my sleeve. I have 20 hand written pages for the blog entries for my cast of Fight for Eternity. I wrote the blogs first because with the way Head Hunters ended it needed to start with blogs from the main cast and a couple secondary characters who opinions are important. The blog entries in Fight for Equality are from Angel, Mitzi, Stryker, Cassandra, Hayden, Celeste, Cayden, Daniya, Aria, and secondary characters Chris and Aiden. Also some of the adults add posts like Ms. Clearwater, Angel's dad, Taralyn, and the Johnson parents. I...
