International Women's Month Collection: Sorry for the Interruption

Life got derailed recently, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to finish posting the interviews. I need a few more days to reconfigure my plan before dropping the rest of the interviews. I must remeet and interview or go over their interviews with Cheyanne and Kimmie. The new line-up from here will be:  Irene Lyla Lee Betsy C.  Shaneeza A.  Kimmie Cooper Cheyanne B. Rachel B.  Interview Questions Sent to the Interviewer Post again soon. 😀

International Women's Month Collection: Belle H.

Meet my friend and sometimes French tutor Belle. She's a close friend of mine. She's protective, adaptable, and has the best mind. ❤  Kaylyn Gabbert : We met through a fan group you got together. You were looking for a moderator, and after you told me what that was I had no problem taking the position. What made you want to make the fan group for the mobile game, Obey Me? And are you happy with the progress the group has made?  Belle H .: I originally made the group because there wasn't a group for a 18+ at the time. There were so many very strict PG groups. You actually helped with the progress by posting check-ins.  *talked about who we accept; talked about posts that got more tractions* KG : We soon became fast friends. Does that happen often for you? BH : Making friends?  KG : Making good friends? BH : No. It's part of having to grow up so fast. It makes it hard to make a strong connection. I meet a lot of people but making real friends is hard for me.  KG : In one

International Women's Month Collection: Tiffany H.

Meet Tiffany, an avid reader, a beta reader, and an amazing animal lover. We have been great friends since we met. ^-^  When I originally asked Tiffany if I could interview her, there didn't seem to be an issue, but during the interview she asked where her interview would be posted. When I told her it would be on my site, she asked for more information. As it turns out Tiffany thought she has a habit of pissing people off for not being feminist enough, but I told her since I am interviewing women of all walks of life I wouldn't just 'lose the interview' after asking women I see as badass, intellectual, and courageous for interviews.  Tiffany : I think that when you said, "International Women's Day" that women's ideal's that they just hate men and such. And I can't do that. I have four brothers, cousins I was raised with that are like brothers, and a lot of my friends are males.  The truth in what she said was that I was raised by my Dad, some a

International Women's Month Collection: Anne Stenkjær

Let's say a warm hello to Anne who we met last year. I had to invite her back since we've grown closer since last year. 😍 Kaylyn Gabbert : Last year we talked about so much, but the reason I had to come back and interview you again is because we've stayed in touch, and I feel we've become closer. First off, how did you feel when I interviewed you last year? Anne Stenkjær : It was fine. I don't remember all of the we talked about last year.  * reminds her *: We caught up on how we spoke on our different diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy as well as our battle scars. That was the big one we caught up on though our previous interview was about more.  KG : So I know you're an animal lover. You have a big family (yes, I'm counting humans, cats, and chickens). How do you handle it all?  AS : I don't know. We just survive day by day. One of the cats is in fat camp; on a diet, we exercise ten minutes, he's been sent outside to get more exercise, and the vet calls

International Women's Month Collection: Sally W.

I was extremely lucky to interview my favorite grandmother and California research consultant. She is the absolute best.  Kaylyn Gabbert : You are one of the few family members I can tell almost anything to when we email back and forth including when I tell you the summaries of my horror books, a genre you're not into. Have you always been nonjudgmental? Sally W .: If I’m nonjudgmental with you, it’s a bit of a miracle.  I’m certainly not so with others. KG : I want to thank you so much for your kindness and for not judging me for so much. I have so few family members I'm biologically related to that I still talk to this day, so I truly treasure our relationship. I always have since I was a kid. I still remember the song you taught me when I was a small kid, your pool and how much I loved it, even before I could swim. I remember you visiting us in Colorado, and all the cool places we went with you and Grandpa.  KG : How long were you and Grandpa together?  SW : Grandpa and I we

International Women's Month Collection: Jessicah

I was so lucky to be able to interview my sister, Jessicah. The sister who was with me through all of it. I am so proud of who she became. I'm also so grateful to have grown up with her by my side. I hope she knows that. Kaylyn Gabbert: First, I don't remember if I ever asked you this, but why did you choose to change the spelling of your name? Jessicah : I added the h just to differentiate myself because I had a very common name and was never the only one in a classroom and I didn't feel common or average. Lol KG : As kids you were always strong-willed and determined. That's the same today. Do you believe that you were born that way? Jessicah : I remember myself as very meek and mild as a child. I never wanted to make anybody upset. I always felt like the peacemaker because we were raised by so many different people who didn't like to be around each other so I learned when to be quiet and when to make jokes to break the ice. As a teenager I felt like I was always

International Women's Month Collection: Aubrey

I got to meet and interview one of my best friends, Aubrey. They are creative, strong, and crazy empathetic. She somehow always knows what you need and how to help you out. Kaylyn Gabbert: In the cases of autism in my family and friends' families, people on the autism spectrum need a lot of help in the beginning of knowing them. That didn't happen when we met, so I was wondering may I ask about your autism? Aubrey: Yes, you may. I was undiagnosed until I was eighteen. It was mostly social interactions I had troubles with. I couldn't always pick up on social cues. I'm not the best at picking up on light-hearted playing because I'm so serious. My spouse helped me out of my shell.  KG: You seem very self-assured, which for people around our age is highly rare. Have you always known who you are in life? Aubrey: *eyes widened* No. It took me a long time, and even though I'm twenty-nine I'm still finding myself.  KG: What are some of your hobbies? Aubrey: I

International Women's Month Collection: Table of Contents

First off, Happy International Women's Day! ^-^ I hope it's going well for all who celebrate! 😁 For the rest of this month and a little of next month I'll be introducing you to some new strong, intelligent, and creative women. I'll also be reintroducing you to two women I interviewed last year. They had been gracious enough to share more of their lives with us this year. And for the last interview I'll be sharing, women sent me questions. This may be subject to change. We'll see. So here's the line-up:  Aubrey Jessicah Sally W. Cheyanne B.  Anne Stenkjær (yes, she's aware and okay with the fact I'm using her last name for the royal family of The Fierce Mermaid) Tiffany H. Belle H. Kimmie Cooper Irene Lyla Lee Betsy C. Shaneeza A.  Rachel B.

International Women’s Day from Kaylyn’s Universes Volume III

International Women's Day has become one of my favorite holidays, so I'm trying to celebrate it every year. Starting back in 2021 I always start by sharing about my lovely, beautiful, and sometimes sinister or even deadly female characters in my stories then I add something new every year apparently. This year there is still no new information from the tales I've mentioned in 2021 or 2022, but this year I have some amazing women from two new tales: Paying for the Past and The Fierce Mermaid.  In  Paying for the Past , Teagan Thwaites has been emotionally alone for years. She’s a powerful psychic who just escaped an abusive family and got her own home. But life has other plans for her when it lands her new, pushy friends who want to get to know her before the curse that her house has takes ahold of her. Within twenty-four hours she’s befriended a familiar and a powerful witch as well as a doctor who is keeping a close eye on her. Will they be able to get close to her before

Will Not be Jumped by International Women's Day

International Women's Day is a holiday I absolutely love to celebrate since I learned about it two years ago. It's March 8th. I am proud to be a woman, and I'm proud of the opportunities to create such badass women for my books as well as meet such inspirational women from all walks of life.  This month and likely part of next month: I'll highlight women from two WIPs of mine:  Paying for the Past The Fierce Mermaid  I'll share interviews I did with ten beautiful women including:   Two we met last year and more on their lives Two of my family members  And I let everyone I interview have a chance to ask me a question as well as my mom
